Helium 10 Review 2026: Is It Worth Paying For?

Helium 10 is a set of tools for Amazon sellers. It helps you find products, pick keywords, write listings and run ads. On 22 September 2026, Platinum costs $129 a month, or $99 a month billed yearly. Diamond costs $359 a month, or $279 a month billed yearly. There is no Helium 10 free trial with a time limit. You get a Free plan with small use caps instead. The Helium 10 Chrome extension is free to install. Assembly owns Helium 10, not Pacvue.

Key facts

  • Prices checked on 22 September 2026: Platinum $129 monthly or $1,188 a year; Diamond $359 monthly or $3,348 a year (Helium 10 pricing).
  • Enterprise starts at $1,499 a month, billed yearly, for 10+ users and 15+ seller accounts.
  • The Free plan lists Black Box at 5 uses and Xray at 10 uses (Helium 10 blog, modified 9 April 2026).
  • The Chrome extension has 1M+ users and a 4.1 rating from 770 reviews (version 8.43.1, updated 1 September 2026).
  • Assembly formed around Helium 10 on 19 May 2020 and bought Pacvue on 26 October 2021.

What is Helium 10, and who is it for?

Helium 10 is a paid software suite for Amazon and Walmart sellers. It pulls data from the Amazon store and from your own Seller Central account. Seller Central is the dashboard where you run your Amazon business.

The tools fall into four jobs. Research tools estimate what sells. Keyword tools show what shoppers type. Listing tools help you write titles and bullets. Ads and profit tools help you run the account day to day.

We have run Amazon accounts since 2019, across 100+ projects. We use Helium 10 in our own work, and we pay for our seats. This review covers what the plans cost, what the free options really give you, and where the tool earns its fee. For a head to head test, see our Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout comparison.

Helium 10 pricing in 2026

Helium 10 pricing has three paid plans and a Free plan. The price you pay depends on billing. Monthly billing costs more. Yearly billing costs less per month but you pay the full year up front.

Prices checked on 22 September 2026 on the official page:

Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly Yearly total Users Amazon accounts Built for (Helium 10’s words)
Free $0 $0 $0 1 Not stated Testing the tools
Platinum $129 a month $99 a month $1,188 1 additional user 2 $0 to $100K yearly sales
Diamond $359 a month $279 a month $3,348 Up to 5 additional users 10 $100K to $10M yearly sales
Enterprise Not offered From $1,499 a month From $17,988 10+ users 15+ Beyond $10M yearly sales

Many review sites call $99 and $279 a limited promo. That reading is wrong. On the pricing page, $99 is the yearly rate, and it saves $360 against paying $129 each month. The same yearly totals appear on Helium 10’s own blog.

The Starter plan is gone from the pricing page. Helium 10’s blog, last modified in April 2026, still says pricing starts at $49 a month. Third-party trackers reported Starter’s removal in August 2026. Helium 10 has not published a removal date that we could find.

A worked example: cost per account

Seat and account limits change the real price. Here is the math for a brand with one Seller Central account in the US and one in Canada.

  • Platinum yearly: $1,188 a year for 2 accounts. That is $594 per account per year, or $49.50 a month.
  • Diamond yearly: $3,348 a year for 10 accounts. With only 2 accounts used, you pay $1,674 per account per year.
  • Diamond beats Platinum’s $594 per account once you use 6 or more of its 10 slots. At 6 accounts, you pay $558 each per year.
  • Monthly Platinum: $129 x 12 = $1,548 a year. You pay $360 more for the right to cancel any month.

Diamond also includes Helium 10 Ads with a 2% fee on ad spend. At $10,000 of monthly ad spend, that fee is $200 a month. So a monthly Diamond seat really costs $559 that month, not $359.

Is there a Helium 10 free trial?

No. There is no Helium 10 free trial with a clock on it. You get a Free plan that never expires, but each tool has a small use cap.

Helium 10’s own blog lists these Free plan limits: Black Box 5 uses, Xray 10 uses, Listing Analyzer 2 uses and Alerts on 2 ASINs. An ASIN is Amazon’s 10-character product ID. Third-party testers report that these caps are lifetime counts, not monthly ones. Once you use them, they are gone.

The Free plan also leaves out the full keyword tools. Magnet, the keyword idea tool, is not part of it. The blog gives Cerebro, the reverse ASIN tool, only a small daily allowance. That is enough to see how the screens work. It is not enough to research a product.

Our advice is simple. Plan your 10 Xray uses before you spend them. Pick 2 or 3 niches you are serious about, and open Xray on page one of each search. Then decide.

Helium 10 discounts: what is real

The only discount Helium 10 shows on its own page is yearly billing. It saves $360 on Platinum and $960 on Diamond, as the pricing page states.

Coupon codes also exist. Affiliate sites promote codes that third-party trackers describe as 20% off for 6 months, or 10% off every month. These come from partner links, so the site showing you the code earns a fee when you buy. Check the checkout page before you trust any figure.

On monthly plans you can cancel any time, according to the pricing page FAQ. Plans renew on their own until you cancel. The FAQ we read on 22 September 2026 did not state a refund policy. Read the terms before you pay for a full year.

The Helium 10 Chrome extension

The Helium 10 Chrome extension adds research tools on top of Amazon, Walmart and a few other sites. You install it free from the Chrome Web Store. Most tools then need a Helium 10 login, and use counts follow your plan.

The Chrome Web Store listing shows over 1 million users and a 4.1 star rating from 770 ratings. It was on version 8.43.1, updated on 1 September 2026.

ASIN/UPC Grabber Copies product IDs from a page Amazon and Walmart Building lists for Cerebro and Black Box

KDP Sales Checker Estimates book sales Amazon book pages Only for self-published book clients
Influencer Insights Data on creator storefronts Amazon We do not use it

How to install it and connect Helium 10 to Amazon

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search “Helium 10”. Check that the publisher is Helium 10 before you click Add to Chrome.
  2. Pin the extension to your toolbar and sign in with your Helium 10 account.
  3. In the Helium 10 web app, open your account settings and find the Seller Central connection option.
  4. Sign in to Seller Central when Amazon asks, and approve access. Only the main account owner can grant this.
  5. Repeat for each marketplace, up to your plan’s account limit.

Connect with the owner login, not a shared one. If a staff member leaves, you can remove their user seat without breaking the data link.

The tools we use every week as an agency

Out of 30 or so tools, we use six each week. Here is our honest take on each, from running client accounts, not from a demo.

Cerebro. Enter a rival’s ASIN and see the search terms it ranks for. It is the tool we open most. It helps when you launch into a crowded niche. It helps less in tiny niches, where rivals rank for only a few terms.

Magnet. Enter a seed word and get related keywords with estimated search volume. It finds long phrases fast. The volume figures are estimates, so we cross-check the top terms in Amazon’s own data. Our Amazon keyword research guide shows that process.

Black Box. Filter the catalog by price, sales and reviews to find product ideas. It works for brainstorming. It does not tell you whether you can win the niche, so we pair it with the checks in our Amazon product research guide.

Helium 10 Ads. This is the PPC tool, powered by Pacvue since February 2025. PPC means pay per click, the ads you run inside Amazon. The rules and bid tools are solid for small and mid accounts. Large accounts still need a human to read the search term report each week. We cut one client’s ACoS from 35% to 10% in six months with that manual work; see our ACoS case study.

Inventory Management. It forecasts when you will run out and when to reorder. It helps if your stock sits in FBA, Amazon’s own warehouses. It is weak for brands that also sell on their own site from one shared stock pool.

Profits. It shows profit after Amazon fees, ad spend and product cost. It is useful for a quick weekly view. We still reconcile with Seller Central payment reports each month, because refunds and fee changes can lag.

To compare Helium 10 with other suites, see our Amazon SEO tools roundup and Amazon PPC software guide go deeper.

Our test: Xray estimates vs real sales

Xray estimates how many units a product sells each month. Nobody outside Amazon knows the true number. So we are testing how close Xray gets, using real client sales data shared with written permission.

Status: our test method; results to be added. We have not run the test yet. We will not publish any accuracy figure until we have.

Our test method:

  1. Pick 10 client ASINs across at least 4 categories and 3 price bands.
  2. Record the Xray monthly sales estimate for each ASIN on the same day.
  3. Pull real units ordered for the same 30 days from the Seller Central Business Report (Detail Page Sales and Traffic by Child Item).
  4. Work out the error for each ASIN: (Xray estimate minus real units) divided by real units, times 100.
  5. Report the median error, the range, and whether Xray ran high or low.
  6. Repeat after 90 days to check whether the error holds.

Results table template (to be filled):

ASIN (masked) Category Price band Xray est. units Real units (Business Report) Error % Over or under
ASIN 1 [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add]
ASIN 2 [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add]
ASIN 3 to 10 [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add] [to add]
Median [to add]

Until we publish results, treat Xray as a guide to scale. Use it to tell a 100-unit niche from a 5,000-unit niche, not to build a cash forecast.

What Seller Central now gives you for free

Amazon now gives brand owners some of the same data for free. If you have Brand Registry, the Brand Analytics menu includes three tools that overlap with Helium 10.

  • Search Query Performance. Shows the search terms that led shoppers to your products, with impressions, clicks and purchases. This is real Amazon data for your own ASINs.
  • Top Search Terms. Ranks search terms by how often shoppers use them, with the top clicked products.
  • Product Opportunity Explorer. Groups search terms into niches and shows demand and trends. Any seller can open it, under Growth in Seller Central.

These are enough if you sell one brand and only need keyword data for your own listings. They are not enough if you want to see a rival’s keywords, scan a new category, or track rank each day. That gap is where Helium 10 still pays.

Who owns Helium 10? Funding and acquisition timeline

Assembly owns Helium 10. Pacvue did not buy Helium 10. Assembly owns both, so they are sister companies.

Date Event Source
2015 Manny Coats and Guillermo Puyol found Helium 10 Company history (third-party)
19 May 2020 Assembly forms with Helium 10 as its first major company, backed by Providence Strategic Growth (amount not disclosed) PSG
30 Sep 2020 Helium 10 buys Prestozon, a PPC tool PR Newswire
21 Sep 2021 Assembly raises a round led by Advent International, valued at over $1B PR Newswire
26 Oct 2021 Assembly buys Pacvue, an enterprise ads platform PR Newswire
26 Feb 2025 Helium 10 Ads launches, powered by Pacvue GlobeNewswire

So, was Helium 10 acquired? Yes, once. In May 2020 it became part of Assembly, a group funded by private equity. We found no public record of a later sale of Helium 10 or Assembly up to September 2026. Helium 10 itself has no separate funding round on record. Its money came through Assembly.

Some sites name a legal entity and stop there. That misses the story. The owner that sets product and price is Assembly, and its backers are PSG and Advent.

Helium 10 alternatives by use case

The best Helium 10 alternative depends on the one job you need done. Most sellers do not need a full suite.

Your need Tool to look at Why it fits Watch out for
Full suite, easier screens Jungle Scout Research, keywords and sales data in one place Similar price class; compare plans
Keyword work on a budget SellerSprite Reverse ASIN and keyword data Competitor-run review pages push it hard
Deep keyword sorting for listings Data Dive Sorts keyword lists by root and relevance Needs data from another tool
Price and rank history Keepa Long history charts for any ASIN No keyword research
Brand and seller mapping SmartScout Shows which brands and sellers win a category Less listing and ads help

Prices for these tools change often. Check each vendor’s own pricing page on the day you buy.

Is Helium 10 worth it?

Helium 10 is worth it once you have a product selling and a keyword gap to close. Before that, the Free plan and Seller Central cover most of what you need.

Seller stage Our verdict Plan
Pre-launch, no product yet Use the Free plan and Product Opportunity Explorer. Pay for one month only when you shortlist 2 or 3 niches Free, then 1 month of Platinum
First product live Worth it for Cerebro and Keyword Tracker Platinum, billed yearly once sure
10+ ASINs or 2+ marketplaces Worth it; seat and account limits start to matter Diamond
Agency or large brand Worth it for team seats; weigh the 2% ads fee against your current PPC tool Diamond or Enterprise

The key test is simple. Will one extra keyword or one avoided bad product repay $1,188 a year? For most live brands, yes. For a seller still picking a product, often no.

When you should not buy it

Skip Helium 10 for now if any of these fit you.

  • You have not chosen a product and have no budget to launch within 90 days. The data will be stale by then.
  • You sell one brand with Brand Registry and only care about your own keywords. Search Query Performance is free and uses real Amazon data.
  • You need exact sales numbers for a loan or an investor. Xray gives estimates, not audited sales.
  • You already pay an agency that runs PPC in its own tools. Ask what they use before you pay twice.

Where this review could be wrong: prices, plan limits and tool names change often. We checked them on 22 September 2026. If Helium 10 changes a plan, trust its pricing page over this article.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Helium 10 free trial?

No, there is no timed Helium 10 free trial. You get a Free plan that does not expire. It has small use caps, such as 10 Xray uses and 5 Black Box uses, per Helium 10’s blog. Testers report these are lifetime caps, so plan each use before you spend it.

How much does Helium 10 cost per month?

Platinum costs $129 a month on monthly billing, or $99 a month if you pay $1,188 for a year. Diamond costs $359 monthly, or $279 a month at $3,348 a year. Enterprise starts at $1,499 a month on a yearly contract. We checked these figures on 22 September 2026.

Is Helium 10 worth it in 2026?

Yes, for sellers with a live product who need rival keyword data and rank tracking. It is less useful before you pick a product. Amazon’s free Brand Analytics tools now cover your own search data. Start with the Free plan, then pay once you have a clear keyword job.

Is the Helium 10 Chrome extension free?

The extension itself is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. Most of its tools need a Helium 10 login. On the Free plan, Xray stops after 10 uses. Full use comes with a paid plan. The listing showed over 1 million users and a 4.1 rating in September 2026.

What does Helium 10 Xray do?

Xray estimates monthly sales, revenue, price and review counts for each product on an Amazon or Walmart page. It gives a fast read on how big a niche is. The figures are models, not Amazon data. Use them to compare niches, not to forecast cash.

Who owns Helium 10? Was it acquired?

Assembly owns Helium 10. It became Assembly’s first major company in May 2020, with backing from Providence Strategic Growth. Advent International led a later round in 2021. Assembly also bought Pacvue in October 2021, which makes Pacvue a sister company, not the owner.

Is Helium 10 better than Jungle Scout?

It depends on the job. Helium 10 has more keyword and listing tools, and its ads tool runs on Pacvue. Jungle Scout is often called simpler to learn. Our full side by side test is in the Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout guide.

Does Helium 10 offer a refund?

We could not confirm a refund policy. The pricing page FAQ we read on 22 September 2026 covered cancellation, not refunds. Monthly plans have no long-term commitment and renew until you cancel. Read the terms of service before paying for a year, since that locks in a larger sum.

Is there a Helium 10 discount code?

Yes, affiliate sites share codes. Third-party trackers describe them as 20% off for 6 months or 10% off each month. The only saving Helium 10 lists itself is yearly billing, which cuts $360 on Platinum and $960 on Diamond. Confirm the final price at checkout.

What happened to the Helium 10 Starter plan?

It is no longer on the pricing page. Third-party trackers reported its removal in August 2026. Helium 10’s own blog, modified in April 2026, still mentions pricing from $49 a month. Helium 10 has not published an official end date that we could find.

Does Helium 10 work for Walmart?

Yes, in part. The Chrome extension runs Xray and the ASIN/UPC Grabber on Walmart pages. The listing names Walmart sellers in its title. Most of the deeper keyword and ads tools focus on Amazon, so check the plan page if Walmart is your main channel.

If you would rather hand the tools, the keywords and the ads to a team, see our Amazon account management service.
