Amazon A+ Content Specs 2026: Every Module, Every Limit, Every Rule

Amazon A+ Content is free for sellers who meet eligibility requirements. You need a Professional selling account plus a Brand Representative or Reseller role in Brand Registry, or generic products in your catalogue. The API schema defines fifteen standard module types. A+ Content Manager displays seventeen, because it splits two of them into light and dark and left and right variants. Amazon reports that Basic A+ lifts sales by up to 8 percent and Premium by up to 20 percent. Every module, dimension and character limit sits below.

What Amazon A+ Content costs, and who can publish it

Amazon states it plainly: A+ Content is free for sellers who meet eligibility requirements. No per page fee. No ad spend minimum.

The six figure Premium pricing still quoted on ranking pages is wrong for sellers. Those 100,000 to 250,000 dollar figures came from the old vendor side programme. Eligibility gates the Premium tier, not a purchase order. Amazon Brand Registry enrolment grants the Brand Representative role that switches the editor on.

Amazon’s published lift figures

Three numbers come from Amazon’s A+ Content design guide, dated 24 September 2025, all attributed to Amazon internal data.

Basic A+ can increase sales by up to 8 percent. Well implemented Premium A+ can increase sales by up to 20 percent. Video viewers are 3.6 times more likely to convert.

These supersede the 3 to 10 percent range agencies still repeat. That range has no current Amazon source.

The fifteen standard modules, named as the API names them

These names match the ContentModuleType enum in the A+ Content API schema, file aplusContent_2020-11-01.json in the public amzn/selling-partner-api-models repository. Use the exact strings when publishing through the API.

Count the tiles inside A+ Content Manager and you get seventeen. The interface splits two modules into variants. The company logo shows as light and dark. The single side image shows as left and right. The API treats each pair as one type.

Image specifications by module

Read the caveat first. Amazon does not publish per module pixel dimensions on any crawlable page. The figures below are cross referenced from Amazon’s template files and long standing community documentation. Verified on 28 August 2026. Confirm each one inside A+ Content Manager before a shoot.

Amazon does confirm the file rules themselves. Maximum file size is 2 MB. JPG and PNG only. RGB colour, never CMYK. Minimum 72 dpi. Animated GIFs get rejected.

Export at the stated size. The editor scales down, and soft edges show on phones. Keep in image text short for the same reason. Our Amazon graphics and design work starts from these numbers, not a generic canvas.

Character limits by module

Same caveat, same date. These counts come from template files and community guides, not from a crawlable Amazon page. Verified on 28 August 2026. The editor counts live, so treat its field counter as final.

Five ceilings come from the API schema and override anything a template says. A comparison table accepts six product columns and ten metric row labels, each product title capped at 80 characters. Technical specifications run four to sixteen rows across one or two tables. Bulleted lists stop at eight items. Alt text stops at 100 characters.

Copy written to the ceiling reads badly. Writing A+ Content that sells covers what to do with the space.

Premium A+ and the eligibility question nobody has settled

Premium adds capability, not a bill. Larger images, video, interactive hotspots, a navigation carousel, question and answer modules, and an enhanced comparison chart.

Two credible accounts of Premium eligibility run at the same time, and they disagree.

Amazon staff answering a Seller Forums thread updated around May 2026 said the requirement still stands. That means five approved A+ project submissions in the past twelve months, plus Brand Story published to every ASIN you own.

Trade publications reported in May 2026 that Amazon had opened Premium to all Seller Central brand owners at no cost.

A staged rollout would make both true. Plan around neither. Open A+ Content Manager and read the banner above the module picker. It names your tier, and that is the only answer covering your account.

Brand Story sits outside the module count

Brand Story is a separate strip above your A+ modules, repeating across every listing in the brand. Publish it once and it carries.

Four sub module types exist, and one Brand Story holds four. A brand ASIN and Store module. A brand focus image. A brand logo with a description. A brand question and answer block, with combined answers capped at 600 characters.

That breakdown comes from a community maintained module guide on the Seller Forums, not an Amazon page. Reliable, but unofficial.

What Amazon prohibits, and what to write instead

Rejections cluster in ten places. The right hand column saves the resubmission.

Quotes carry one more rule. Amazon accepts them only from well known publications or public figures, with attribution shown.

Approval times and the new Content Quality Analysis

Seller Central documents a seven business day review. KDP help documents eight business days for book content. Both describe the target, not the ceiling. Forum threads report two and three week waits at peak, so build a buffer.

Content Quality Analysis entered beta in February 2026. It scores published A+ pages weekly on readability, information completeness, visual presentation and conversion effectiveness. Each page returns Needs Improvement or Meets Standards with prioritised recommendations.

The score never takes a page down. It does tell you which live pages Amazon’s own model reads as weak. That beats guessing at a rewrite queue.

Shoppable Collections ended on 27 February 2026

Amazon closed the Shoppable Collections beta on 27 February 2026. Notifications appeared inside A+ Content Manager on 22 February 2026, five days ahead. Amazon cited user feedback and programme data.

Any template pack or agency deck still listing the module predates that date. Existing collections stopped serving. Cover the same merchandising with a comparison table and a Store link.

Copying across marketplaces does not work

Amazon staff have stated in the Seller Forums that no function copies A+ Content between marketplaces. You rebuild it in each regional Seller Central account. Every guide promising a one click multi marketplace workflow describes something Amazon does not offer.

Translation works the same way. A seller cannot request or trigger a language variation. Amazon decides them internally, case by case.

KDP is the exception. Book content publishes across a named marketplace list, with automatic drafting to other regions sharing that language.

Is A+ Content indexed, honestly

Three different questions get blurred into one. They have three different answers.

Does Amazon search index it? Partly. Amazon staff have confirmed in the forums that alt text submitted with A+ modules gets used in search results. Amazon has never confirmed that visible module copy is indexed, and a widely cited community guide says flatly that it is not. Write real alt text for every image, inside the 100 character cap, and keep ranking terms in the title, bullets and backend fields, where Amazon SEO happens.

Does Google crawl it? Yes. A+ modules render in the detail page HTML, and that copy appears in Google’s index of Amazon product URLs.

Do AI shopping assistants read it? Probably, since they summarise rendered page text. Amazon publishes nothing on this. Treat it as likely, not proven.

Frequently asked questions

Is A+ Content free on Amazon?

Yes. Amazon’s own page states that A+ Content is free for sellers who meet eligibility requirements. No per page charge applies to Basic or Premium. Your only cost is production: photography, design and copywriting. Eligibility, not payment, decides which tier you can publish.

Who is eligible for A+ Content in 2026?

You need a Professional selling account, plus a Brand Representative or Reseller role for a brand enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. Sellers with generic products in the Amazon catalogue also qualify. Vendor accounts reach the same editor from a different console.

How much does Premium A+ Content cost?

Nothing. Amazon lists A+ Content as free for eligible sellers, and that covers the Premium tier. The 100,000 to 250,000 dollar per page figures still circulating came from the legacy vendor side programme. They never applied to Seller Central brand owners.

How do I qualify for Premium A+ Content?

Two accounts disagree. Amazon staff said in a Seller Forums thread updated around May 2026 that the requirement stands. It asks for five approved A+ project submissions in twelve months, plus Brand Story on all owned ASINs. Trade sources reported in May 2026 that access opened to every brand owner. Check your banner.

How many modules can I use per A+ project?

Seller Central help documents five modules for a Basic project and seven for a Premium project. Those pages sit behind a login, so confirm the count in the editor. The module tray stops accepting additions once you hit your tier limit.

What are the A+ Content image dimensions?

They differ per module. A header image runs 970 x 600. Standard image and text blocks run 300 x 300. The four image module runs 220 x 220, and the company logo 600 x 180. Amazon publishes none of this on a crawlable page, so verify each in the editor.

What is the maximum file size for an A+ image?

2 MB per image. Amazon confirms this with the other file rules: JPG and PNG only, RGB colour rather than CMYK, and a 72 dpi minimum. Animated GIFs get rejected. Export at the module’s stated pixel size rather than letting the editor resize a larger file.

Does A+ Content help Amazon SEO?

Partly, and less than most guides claim. Amazon staff confirmed that alt text submitted with A+ modules gets used in search results. Amazon has never confirmed that visible module copy is indexed. The measurable gain is conversion rate, which does feed ranking. Write alt text properly.

Is A+ Content crawled by Google?

Yes. A+ modules render inside the product detail page HTML, so Google reads that copy the same way it reads the rest of the page. Alt text and headline text both appear. That makes A+ worth writing for off Amazon discovery.

How long does A+ Content approval take?

Seller Central documents seven business days. KDP help documents eight business days for book content. Real waits run longer in Q4 and around major sale events, with forum reports of two to three weeks. Submit three weeks before any launch date.

Why was my A+ Content rejected?

The usual causes are price or discount wording and time sensitive words such as new or now. Warranty claims, contact details, links, superlatives like best selling, review text and gallery images all trigger it too. Health and environmental claims fail without certification.

Can I copy A+ Content to other marketplaces?

No. Amazon staff have confirmed in the Seller Forums that no copy function exists between marketplaces. You recreate the project inside each regional Seller Central account, images included. Book content published through KDP is the one exception, distributing across a named marketplace list.

Can I request a translated version of my A+ Content?

No. Amazon staff have stated that a seller can neither request nor trigger a language variation. Amazon decides them internally, case by case. Selling into another language means budgeting for translation and rebuilding the whole project inside that marketplace yourself.

What happened to Shoppable Collections?

Amazon ended the Shoppable Collections beta on 27 February 2026. Notifications appeared in A+ Content Manager on 22 February 2026. Amazon cited user feedback and programme data. Existing collections stopped serving that day. Replace the merchandising with a comparison table and a Store link.

What is the Content Quality Analysis score?

A beta feature launched in February 2026 that grades published A+ pages weekly. It scores readability, information completeness, visual presentation and conversion effectiveness, then returns Needs Improvement or Meets Standards with prioritised recommendations. It never removes content. Use it to rank rewrites.
