Target Plus Virtual Assistant
& Account Manager
Target Plus is invite-only and curated. We handle the parts that decide whether your listings go live and stay live — item setup, variant families, warehouse codes and Roundel advertising.
A Target Plus virtual assistant manages your Target Plus Partner Portal day to day: building item setup files that clear Target’s required attributes, keeping variant families correct, maintaining inventory against warehouse codes, hitting the 24-hour ship window, and running Target Product Ads through Roundel. Target Plus works nothing like Amazon, and treating it like Amazon is the single most common reason brands stall there.
What We Offer
How We Help You Grow
Item Setup That Actually Publishes
Missing category-required attributes is the most-cited reason Target Plus listings never go live. We build item setup files against the required attribute set for each product type, and clear rejections when they come back.
Variant Family Construction
Products that should sit in one family published separately, or near-duplicate SKUs triggering consolidation requests, both cost you visibility. We structure variant families correctly at setup rather than fixing them later.
Warehouse Codes & Inventory
Target routes orders to your warehouses using Target warehouse codes. We keep inventory submitted per code and accurate, so orders route to the location that can actually ship them.
Fulfilment SLA Management
Target Plus is seller-fulfilled with no FBA equivalent. Orders must ship within 24 hours via approved carriers. We monitor the queue daily and escalate before an SLA slips.
Roundel & Target Product Ads
Target Product Ads are native CPC placements on Target.com and the app, bought through Roundel Media Studio. We build, bid and report on them, and set expectations honestly about how much thinner the ad tooling is than Amazon’s.
Creative Built for Target
Target’s creative standard is editorial and lifestyle-led. Amazon’s white-background stack images generally cannot be ported across. We brief and organise assets that fit the storefront.
What Makes Target Different
Five things that catch Amazon sellers out
There is no Buy Box
Target Plus approves one seller per item. There is no reseller competition on your listing, no repricing war, and no Buy Box to win or lose. Strategy shifts entirely from price defence to assortment and content quality.
It is curated, so assortment fit is a real risk
You can be removed for reasons that have nothing to do with your performance. Target curates. Brands are commonly declined for commodity items under roughly $15, for Amazon-style creative, or for competing directly with Target owned brands.
Seller-fulfilled only
There is no Target equivalent of FBA or Walmart WFS. You hold the inventory, you ship it, and you meet the 24-hour dispatch expectation using approved carriers. Your 3PL setup matters more here than on any platform with first-party fulfilment.
You start at zero reviews
Reviews do not port from Amazon or your own site. Every listing begins cold, which makes early conversion and content quality disproportionately important.
Pricing parity is enforced
Listings de-rank if the same item is materially cheaper elsewhere. If you sell across several channels, pricing has to be coordinated deliberately rather than managed per channel.
What You Get
What a month of Target Plus management looks like
Target Plus is lower-volume and higher-friction than Amazon. The work is less about scale and more about keeping a curated catalogue publishable, shippable and visible. Every engagement includes:
- Daily order review against the 24-hour dispatch window, with escalation before an SLA slips
- Inventory updates submitted per Target warehouse code, reconciled weekly
- Item setup and rejection remediation — new SKUs built to the required attribute set for their product type
- Variant family audits so related SKUs sit in one family and near-duplicates do not trigger consolidation requests
- Roundel and Target Product Ads campaign management, with bid and budget changes logged
- Pricing parity monitoring across your other channels, since Target de-ranks materially cheaper listings elsewhere
- Returns and RMA processing through the Partner Portal
- A written monthly report covering orders, ad spend and return rate, plus what we changed and why
A good fit if
- You are already approved on Target Plus, or have a realistic invitation path
- You hold US inventory and can dispatch within 24 hours
- You have a curated catalogue, roughly 20 to 60 SKUs
- Your creative is lifestyle-led, or you are willing to commission it
- You sell on at least one other marketplace and want pricing coordinated
Probably not a fit if
- You are looking for guaranteed Target Plus approval — nobody can offer that
- Your catalogue is commodity items under roughly $15
- You ship from outside the US with no domestic 3PL
- You expect Amazon-level volume in year one
- You want to port Amazon white-background imagery unchanged
Our Process
How We Work
Portal & Catalogue Audit
We review your Partner Portal setup, item statuses, suppressed listings, attribute completeness and variant structure, then give you a written list of what is blocking publication.
Item Setup & Remediation
We rebuild item setup files for rejected and incomplete items, fix variant families, and work the rejection queue until the catalogue is live and clean.
Operations Cadence
Daily order monitoring against the 24-hour ship window, inventory updates by warehouse code, returns handling, and weekly reporting on what shipped, what stalled and why.
Advertising
Roundel and Target Product Ads campaigns built, bid and pruned against your margin targets, with reporting that reflects Target’s reporting depth rather than pretending it matches Amazon.
Assortment Growth
Once the core catalogue performs, we plan SKU expansion with your Target merchant relationship in mind — Target tends to prefer curated assortments over exhaustive ones.
FAQ
Common Questions
Can you get my brand approved on Target Plus?
No agency can guarantee approval. Target Plus is invite-only and Target’s merchandising team decides. What we can do is prepare a submission that avoids the common rejection triggers, and make sure your catalogue, creative and fulfilment are ready before you apply so you are not declined on fixable grounds.
How long does Target Plus onboarding take?
Published timelines vary widely, and reported experiences range from a few weeks to several months depending on category. Treat any agency promising a fixed date with suspicion. We plan on the assumption it will be slow and keep your catalogue work moving in parallel.
What does Target Plus charge?
Target charges a referral fee by category and does not publish a public fee schedule. Rates commonly reported in the trade press fall in a 5–15% band, but your actual rate is contract-specific. Check your own agreement rather than relying on published figures.
Do I need US-based inventory?
Yes. Target Plus is seller-fulfilled with orders routed to your warehouses by warehouse code, and there is no first-party fulfilment option. You need domestic inventory and a 3PL or warehouse that can dispatch within 24 hours.
Can I reuse my Amazon listing content?
Partly. Copy and specifications usually transfer with editing. Imagery often does not — Target’s creative standard leans editorial and lifestyle rather than the white-background stack that performs on Amazon.
Do you also manage our other marketplaces?
Yes. Most clients run us across several at once, which is also how we keep pricing parity coordinated — a real ranking factor on Target Plus.
